The biggest exchange of Bitcoin and Etherium Bithumb has been hacked , resulting in a loss of billions of Won. According to reports, market volume of shares of 75 percent was in the South Korean Bitcoin market, bithumb is the world's fifth largest exchange, with the daily trading volume of 13,000 bitcoins,which is about 10 percent of the world's trading.
This exchange is the world's largest market of ethereum,South Korea Trade makes the fourth largest won currency market of bitcoin leaving behind US dollar.Bithumb trading account of 54% is done in South Korea of Ethereum.
Billion of won was stolen from the accounts of the customer with this cyber attack.According to a local newspaper, the Kyunghyang Shinmun, one victim alone claimed that "bitcoins worth 10 million won” in his account “disappeared instantly.” A survey of those who lost money from the hack reveals "it is estimated that hundreds of millions of won have been withdrawn from accounts of one hundred investors. One member claims to have had 1.2 billion won stolen
Hackers have managed to get personal information of 31800 people of Bithumb website users,which includes their names,phone numbers and email addresses.According to Bithumb, they say that it is only 3% of people.Bithumb got its information on June 29 and he reported to the Higher Authority on 30th June, saying that more than 100 customers have so far issued a Complaint against Bithumb by the National Police Agency of cyber crime
One victim claims that the attacker posed as an executive at Bithumb and phoned to say that he was "suspicious of a foreign hacking transaction,” and instructed his victim to give him an “identification number written on the letter from Bithumb.” The number in question was the victim’s One-Time Password, (OTP) which granted the attacker immediate access to ten million won, worth about US$8,700.
Bithumb has issued a notice on his website, under which he is saying that the company is ready to give a man on 10,000 won, under which $ 870 will be compensated for the rest of the loss.
