Feb 18 results:
Here is my return from yesterday (Feb 18):
The 1 year change is as follows:
The value of my 401K on Dec 31, 2024 was 143K (or 260K for the combined value of the two accounts). Today that value is 150K for the 401K plan on Feb 18, 2025 (with only $942 coming for new capital added into my 401K plan). The rest was from the 4% YTD return.
In addition, that means $281K - $260K = net change of 21K since Dec 31, 2024. If my 401K only moved 7K, the other portfolio gained 14K. I can tell you that portfolio gain came from ROI, not new capital added to the account.
This is in my 401K plan, so the amount I can put in is a function of my SALARY times the saving rate. I can't move 50K or 100K into this account to "pad" the number to make the returns look better than they are.
Bitcoin return
I wanted to share the BITCOIN/ETHER return for the last 24 hours and 7 days. This way you can see that my PORTFOLIO gains were not SKEWED by Bitcoin because the BITCOIN markets have been mostly downtrending for the last few days.
I do have Bitcoin in one of these portfolios.
As a side note, I started to use Covered calls Options in one of these portfolios, but that should only add less than 1K from income gains from the options trading.
The Future of Pokemon Cards: 2025 and Beyond:
This is a good read about how a new release of Pokemon Video game might impact the Trading Card market (Pokemon cards).
Sometimes trends are predictable and getting ahead of the pattern is what creates opportunities to make money. If the Pokemon video game is a success, then I can see the market over the next 3-5 years as a growing market. Pokemon has a large percentage of women who play the game and collect trading cards. This is very different from baseball or basketball card collectors, which are mostly male-dominated.
Feb 19 Investment moves
Here are today's investment moves @ 11:55 am (EST):
Remember that I post my trades on social media at the time I make them. I don't know if I will make a profit or loss on that trade until you follow it to the end (when I roll or close the position). All of those trades are generally posted and look like this screen capture.
Have a profitable day!
