So , maybe it's the FOMO but i had saved 400$ and wanted to invest on an ICO
found one and hopped on board the Telegram channel .
only to realize that the white list is closed , i posted a question on the possibility on getting on it still and voila
some admin talks to me .
looked at the credentials . compared to other admins same so assumed it was safe and i kept talking
and he offers a spot on the pre ico
the admin sends an email from a similar site ( i missed the part of .org to .io thing)
and yeah so here i am with my 400$ gone
I support technology and support new ideas and the same reason i wanted to put some money on a few ICO's
anyways
are there any measures taken from the ICO companies hosting telegram channels to prevent scams like this>
and yes I agree i should have thought further more before sending money to someone
but again
as security measures and precautions what else can be done?
I fucking worked for the money i lost - why can't others work for their money too !
should have saved the telegram chat, but being mad deleted only to have a few screen shots and will publish in a bit maybe
Man, that's a terrible way to lose your hard-earned money. Feel for you! :(
These scams are widespread, the impostors are very clever, they operate in a coordinated way. Never indulge in deals through PMs unless they are initiated by you. Nevertheless, lesson learned. Be careful from now on and educate others who are new.
