I am currently submitting a budget proposal for a Merchant Adoption Campaign to the Dash Protocol.
Dash is a cryptocurrency with instant transactions, built in coin-mixing, and a decentralized governance structure known as the Masternode System.
The Masternode System is essentially a decentralized autonomous organization that provides services on the Dash network and votes on monthly budgets that are allocated to users seeking to further the development and promotion of the network.
If a user has a budget approved, they are literally doing business with the protocol itself, not a board of directors, a legal entity, or a centralized company. This makes Dash one of the first ever Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAO).
Dash's clever innovation and decentralized nature afford it the swift decision making that comes with a centralized company while avoiding the single point of failure and organizational tyranny that often comes with hierarchy and centralization.
I thought it'd be cool to document our budget proposal from start to finish and in turn educate the Steemit community about this exciting and cutting edge way of doing business.
This will be the first post in a series of posts explaining how the process works and sharing my thoughts.
Hopefully at the end of it, we will be successful!
A little background
I've been a cryptocurrency enthusiast and advocate for several years now. Learn a little more about my background from my Steemit Introduction Post.
My family and I are currently on a cross country crypto only promotional trip called Dash Across America. Part of the funding for our trip was provided by the Dash Protocol after we were successful with our budget proposal for Dash to be one of our sponsors. See my pre-proposal forum post here.
We were so excited to be a part of Dash, we decided we would give it another go with an exciting campaign that could really bring a lot of attention and momentum to the growing cryptocurrency and community.
Here is the gist of what I am proposing to the network.....
Dash to Adoption: 100 Businesses in 100 Days
Vision: 100 more businesses accepting Dash as payment for their goods and/or services within 100 days
Mission: Reach out to businesses likely to adopt Dash, educate them on the value of Dash as a payment system, and assist them in setting up Dash as a payment gateway while working with the Dash Core Team to build Dash's payment processing applications and working with Dash merchants and customers to further the interests of the Dash business community
If this proposal passes, starting on September 15th and ending on Christmas Eve, December 24th, I will bring 100 businesses on as Dash accepting merchants.
How I am making it happen
Step 1. Visioning
For the past couple weeks, my wife and I have been kicking this idea back and forth. We discussed the need, what the proposal might include, and how this would fit in to our business and family life. After much discourse, we decided it would be a great value for Dash and would help our bottom line for the next three months.
Step 2. Give a pre-proposal pitch the to Dash Community in the Dash Forum
It is recommended that a proposal is first posted to the Dash Forum for preliminary feedback at least two weeks before the scheduled payout date. As we have been busy pumping away on the Dash Across America Tour, we posted our pre-proposal in the Dash Forums today, 12 days before the next scheduled payout, which take place once every month. We will now make ourselves available to respond to any feedback or recommended changes.
Pre-proposals are posted here: Pre-Budget Proposal Discussions
Here is our pre-proposal: Dash to Adoption - 100 Businesses in 100 Days
Step 3. Broadcast the proposal to the network......
Once a good amount of feedback has been given and things are looking positive, users should broadcast their proposal to the network using the tools found at DashCentral.org, formerly DashWahle.org.
Here is where things get a little tricky and a decent understanding of working with wallets and cryptocurencies comes in handy. To be honest, there aren't many resources out there on how to do this. The ones I came across were pretty hard to understand.
This will be my second budget proposal and I will do my best to explain the process in a way that is easy for lay-crypto users to understand.
At this point we are awaiting feedback on our pre-proposal. Look out for our next update as we show you how to broadcast your proposal to the network.
Onward!

Big future for DASH , good luck with the proposal
Good Luck to you. I recently heard about dash and searched about it, the community is really active and the technologies behind Dash are well set up and progressive.
