Stay away from it... It's a scam, it's a ponzi scheme... Bruuuuhhh, you fell for it lol.. what can you even buy with it...? etc.
NOTE: So since I've jumped into Crypto.. I've been doing Facebook Live videos about my early experiences with it and trying to provide some entry level "why get involved" insight.
LOL, why are you so worried about the fate of MY MONEY...? (my retort of first AND last resort)
But these are typical things people hear when they venture into the wild wild west of the new millennium.. the CryptoSphere. Do you think when the prospectors took to the west for the chance of striking it rich with gold... do you think this is the type of ignorant "I haven't really looked into it yet, just seems like a bad idea dude" crap they had to listen to? I'm sure it was. Of course, after news of great returns, the inevitable.. "How can I get started?" comes up... Not everyone of course, just the extremely loud minority (as it pertains to numbers ;) ).
So why single out African Americans? I mean really, those warnings have been screamed by every race and gender around the world by "caring" friends, that probably won't give you any of their money lol, who want the best for you. Well there's a few reasons, the 1st and most important is well, I'm African American(AA) so this is my perspective. Second, as group of people who are largely affected by discrimination and racism in the banking and financial systems, I see Bitcoin as a major game changer. Third, as time goes by you know some brothers are gonna add some real cool blockchain swag real soon.. I don't know what.. but it's gonna be entertaining right?
But from what I see early on given certain financial statistics for AAs, lack of access to capital, lack of savings, lack of investing and a whoooooooole lot of spending (yes all those O's were necessary what's the red line about..? anyway). So when I dug into crypto it just made sense. Bitcoin is the most versatile financial instrument I've ever seen, you can spend it, hold it, trade it and invest it. Try buying some Google with your Coca Cola stock, and there is a real "come as you are" entry point. The burger flipper to the corporate magnate stand an equal chance at success depending on how they play it.
Now is not the time for AAs to get caught up in BUBBLETALK, the entry of African Americans in this space is going to be impactful and the opportunities to kinda create your own income or job just comes down to where you see yourself. There's little competition no matter where you are in it.. there's a need for many more miners, coders, marketers, investors, adopters, traders and who knows what others. The ground is so fertile it's difficult to walk in if you don't have a plan for what to do once you get that "Your Bitcoin is ready" from Coinbase... hell there needs to be at least 5 more of those.
So Bitcoin can be a game changer for the brothers and sisters and I hope that we can begin to tune out those mediots filling our heads with crash and bubble talk... and be a serious player in the CryptoSphere.. Let's get it!
