I don't believe it should affect the current price of bitcoin since bitcoin themselves aren't actually bought and sold but rather a contract is bought and sold for fiat.
Tom Lee of Fundstrat states there is correlation, but at this point I don't think neither he nor anyone has pointed out causation if so.
