Thanks for the informative explanation! In my limited comprehension of the blockchain technology (I've been involved for 4 years, but I'm not a programmer or "techie"), it appears the side chain is good way to provide testing and improvements, while the downside is it could further confuse new entrants into the market.
With confusion in the general public comes fear, and an unwillingness to adopt new concepts. Still it is exciting to watch crypt grow and evolve.
