A Northern Ireland construction company has become the first, on the island of Ireland, to begin accepting Bitcoins as payment.
Managing director Jamesy Hagan said: "Bitcoin is an innovative new payment method and essentially a new kind of money. It is very similar to a cash transaction. There has been a significant growth in the use of Bitcoin worldwide and our acceptance of this new channel reflects our willingness to respond to the market."

While they are the first, I don't doubt they will be followed by other small to medium construction firms when they see how easy it can be to adapt to the new currency. I reckon it will take the larger firms a lot longer to adapt to the sea change that's happening in the world currency markets in regards to cryptocurrency.
