I encounter many investment professionals and the topic of bitcoin inevitably comes up. "Tulips" they say. A widely held assumption seems to be that crypto currencies will inevitably be transferred into fiat, and drive a crash in price. Few comment on the decentralized economy that is building, and hardly any have read the btc white paper. But given that bitcoin is a primary transaction currency into these platforms, I've wondered if it's accurate to say that btc is the petrodollar of the decentralized crypto economy?
