Bitcoin Market Cap vs Usage - What is better?

in #bitcoin7 years ago

In this video I talk about the difference between Bitcoin Market Cap and other coins versus their usage. This site http://www.blocktivity.info/ actually does a breakdown of the different reputable blockchains. One way to consider a blockchain project is through its market cap. Another way, closer to the real value, is observing the activity on the blockchain. Lots of FUD and HYPE are responsible for "misplaced" capital in the cryptocurrency space. Here, we are observing which project is actually being used by people, which is in our opinion, the best predictive indicator of value you can have. You can see the unconfirmed transactions of Bitcoin here https://blockchain.info/unconfirmed-transactions.

If you have not got a Bitshares wallet yet then ho here http://wallet.gobitshares.com

Market cap is the backward looking integral of market perception over time. Activity is a measure of how useful it is to people in the present and thus a strong forward-looking metric.

Totally agree with you Stan :)

Good video. I was just talking with my wife about this today. The usage and utility of a crypto-currency is an indicator of how well it could do in the future. That's why I'm more interested in Bitshares than Bitcoin. The BitAssets features of Bitshares (BitUSD and BitUSD) are great examples of features and usages that Bitshares has than Bitcoin doesn't have.

Yeah bitassets are going to become very popular.

After reaching a new historical record on Friday afternoon, above $ 18,000, Bitcoin then entered a correction phase, which seems logical following the sharp rise this week.

It remains to be seen whether the arrival of Bitcoin futures, which will be offered tomorrow to customers of the Chicago Board Options Exchange, will have an impact on its price.

Thank you friends for share useful information

market cap is the best....

Yeah I don't agree with you. Usage us best. Real value comes from people using stuff in my opinion.

"Market" cap is subject to market manipulation/fraud. Real world usage creates real wealth and prosperity. I know which one I choose.

"Lots of FUD and HYPE are responsible for "misplaced" capital in the cryptocurrency space." No shit, look at Steem dollars xD
The Bitcoin bubble gotta pop sometime...

if you can't spend it it's worth nothing.

Really wish you turned off all the alarm sounds on your computer before recording. I enjoyed the content, otherwise.
