Do I correctly recall that McAffee was outed for writing (and releasing) virii that his software then touted it's ability to remove? While this is not an act of a stupid person, it seems to call into question his ethics, which would make me reticent about investing in a platform he was involved in.

can you fix the first sentence, I'm not getting it he released a virus that his software was able to remove got it.
Yes. I have read that he released virii into the wild that his software was already able to defeat. A great marketing ploy, but lacking in ethical substance, I reckon.
I am reminded of Microsoft railing against hackers, so angering them, and then making software easily hacked, ensuring that the hax0rs would pirate it in droves, develop an ecosystem of software around it, and then convince their clients to use it because they already depended on it. Perhaps the greatest marketing ploy ever implemented in the history of computing.
you mean after they stole the personal computer from apple :D just know that there are many stories floating around. I haven't read anything so I haven't got anything to say.
Yes, exactly!
