I used to campaign for Ralph Nader years ago. After the 2004 election, I came to the realization that the system just was not going to work for the poor. But the fundamental problem is worse; the failure of government to observe the non aggression principle. This is inherent to all governments and why their very nature leads to failure. As long as they keep the seed of vote as enforcement of your will upon others without the right to "opt out" there will be terrorism.
As for people improving, that's not going to happen for quite a while yet, but the goal of technical disintermediation (smart contracts and cryptocurrencies are examples of this) is to force governments into the paradigm of limited money. Unlimited money is what has created the greatest atrocities the world has ever known (bombing of Hiroshima and Auschwitz are but 2 examples off the top of my head). Limited money forces governments to fight with something closer to sticks and stones, instead of nukes and vast armies.
The banking system has created artificial scarcity for the sake of control in the form of KYC, AML, CTF...
This video explains what us cypherpunks are doing to technically disintermediate the world so that regulators are brought to heel.
Anarchy is difficult to achieve except for brief moments in time when governments fail. The goal here is to turn this corrupt centralized system inside out...
