This guide is made in order to help you become Jr member in Bitcointalk.
But firstly let me introduce to you what is bitcointalk and why it is so important ?
Bitcointalk is the largest and oldest cryptocurrency forum. It opened on 2009 and even the founder of Bitcoin, Satoshi Nakamoto has posted there during the launch of the Bitcoin. It has more than 1 721 605 registered members and it is considered, without a doubt, as the most popular cryptocurrency forum.
Bitcointalk is very important for every blockchain based project because of its popularity. It is considered as the main communication channel with the crypto community. Official launch announcements, important news and communication with the community is mainly done through Bitcointalk.
In resume every project who wants to be known to the public needs to have an active community in bitcointalk.
And why is important to become Jr member there ?
All registered members of Bitcointalk are divided into ranks depending on their ancienty, their activity and their contribution to the forum.
Here is the description of the ranks, found on Bitcointalk :
*"All the main ranks that can be handed out to normal users are: Brand New, Newbie, Jr. Member, Member, Full Member, Sr. Member, Hero Member and Legendary..
Rank Description
Brand New: 0 posts, gets 1 gold coin under his name.
Newbie: (none), gets 1 gold coin under his name.
Jr. Member: Activity: 30, gets 1 gold coin under his name.
Member: Activity: 60, gets 2 gold coins under his name.
Full Member: Activity: 120, gets 3 gold coins under his name.
Sr. Member: Activity: 240, gets 4 gold coins under his name.
Hero Member: Activity: 480, gets 5 gold coins under his name.
Legendary: Activity: the Legendary membergroup has no universal activity requirement.
You are guaranteed to become Legendary somewhere between 775 and 1030 activity,
but the exact point in this range at which you become Legendary is random per user.
Gets 5 gold coins under his name of which the last is half dark blue.*
As described in my previous article here (https://steemit.com/cryptocurrency/@paoad/the-zero-to-hero-guide-for-newbies-into-crypto ) there are many projects out there who use the Airdrop as a distribution model in order to reward the members who actively support and promote the project.
For example you can have a look in DeepOnion Airdrop -https://deeponion.org/airdrop.html
In most of them, the same condition is applied: To be a Jr. Member and active on Bitcointalk.
And this is the reason why is so important to become as Jr member as soon as possible. If not, you cannot participate in most of the Airdrops out there.
How to become Jr member in Bitcointalk ?
In the «Profile» section, there is a tab with your « username », the total of your «posts » and your « activity »
In order to become a Jr member you need to have an activity of 30. So 30 is the magic number. 30 should be your goal.
In simple words, every time that you make a new post, your activity also increases.
But your activity points are based on the number of posts that you have made and your time spent to the forum. This is in generally speaking, because the real algorithm is a bit more tricky.
So, in addition to making 30 posts, you have to post at least one time, during 3 activity periods. Each activity period allows you 14 points max and lasts for two weeks.
As a result, it usually takes 15-28 days, if you post on a daily basis 2-3 posts.
So this is the secret: Be active, keep posting during 15 days (3 activity periods) and by the end of this period you should have your new Jr member rank.
EDIT: Bitcointalk has suddenly decided to change their point system in order to become a Jr member. I will update the as soon as I find out all the right infos about the new merit system.
Good luck :)
