Hello Dear Steemit Friends!
During the last years of operation with cryptocurrencies especially Bitcoin and Ethereum I have heard thousands of stories of people worldwide who have used digital currencies, like Bitcoin, to obtain operations before impossible. From making online payments for those who lack credit cards to people using Bitcoin to receive remittances from relatives at very low costs.
There are many other use cases and that is why I believe the technology of digital currency will be a key to a new and stronger economy in our countries that have been so affected by inflation.
Unfortunately there are people who have also taken advantage of the power of digital currency to commit fraud.
I decided to make this post as because recently friends and people close to me have been affected by possible pyramid schemes and / or Ponzi that are operating in LatinAmerica and USA . These schemes are fraudulent, we are concerned, and I want to warn you people of this beautiful Steemit community, in order to protect your money and investments.
What is a Ponzi Scheme Pyramid?
It is a fraud that promises significant economic returns to participants in return for an initial investment and recruitment of more clients or "investors." Sometimes the term "investor club" is used.
The organizers are usually charismatic sellers who present you with a scheme where in exchange for your investment and recruitment of other "investors" you can multiply your money without much effort.
In fact, these "returns" or profits come from the money of the new investors in the system, which are used to pay those who entered the scheme before them.
The cycle continues and generates returns until it is impossible to find new investors and until scheme fails. There are famous schemes that operated for many years before being recognized as such.
It is worth mentioning that these schemes of fraud are not new thing of Bitcoin, they have existed for decades and they have happened in many countries around the world. An example of them is Bitconnect from which many people were victims. Within the world of Bitcoin there have been fraudulent schemes that operated for years before go bankrupt.
Do not be fooled!
That they have paid you or some close acquaintance, does not assure you that the scheme is not a fraud. In fact, part of the strategy of these schemes, is to pay the first to become evangelizers of the scheme and sell it to their families and friends because they "paid them."
Many people believe that the scheme in which it participates is not a pyramid, because it knows people close and reliable that already has received payments and even has obtained substantial gains. However, we must not forget that these schemes will eventually collapse (either because there are no new "investors" or because the organizers decide to stop operating and run away with customers' money) and do a great deal of damage to many people, Including friends and family that you have also invited.
In summary
If someone has promised you a lot of money back in exchange for an initial investment and recruitment of more investors, you are most likely facing a pyramid and your money is at great risk. Ask to withdraw your money and look for transparent and realistic investment options.
If your "investment" meets more than 2 of these characteristics, worry:
- There is no product, service or investment asset that generates the yields that will be delivered to you, if there is nothing that supports those gains care!
- You must also suspect you are in a pyramid scheme if the yields they offer are much higher than all legal alternatives in the market
- If they tell you that you will double, triple or quadruple your Bitcoin or whatever your capital in a few months, you must suspect
- Typical of a pyramidal scam, you have to put more people and this is the most obvious feature, because in the pyramid those who come in are going are paying the returns of the first who entered the subject, then if there are no new subscribers the pyramid collapses.
- Do not trust just because they tell you "I got paid", most pyramids initially work, if they do not pay anyone, nobody would trust to enter the scheme somehow what happens is that these people to that the system worked (The founders and the former always win) serve as witnesses or the source of credibility of the pyramid, to attract more people.
- They are not legally regulated by any financial or governmental institution.
Here is a clear example:

Are these all ponzi scams from the same owner?

These companies are screen and scams. Some offer mining, trading and cryptomoneda but we must learn from the PAST and just like with the forex, stock market, sports trading etc. They hide behind a Backoffice without teaching the market and transparency but their time is exhausted because the entrepreneur begins to differentiate them and they are all going to fall:

thx for shereing my bro
Cheers!
I'll add Davorcoin (which is basically a copycat of Bitconnect) and USI-Tech that recently closed its activites in the US and in Canada. Also, most of the cloud mining site are pure Ponzi schemes.
And not to mentions a lot of ICOs: most of these crowdfunded projects do not even need an actual blockchain...
mm very interesting, @fede93g thanks for the information, very much according to what he says, many ICOs have also been made only to scam the partners, and investments never see the light as a consolidated project... cheers!
its very important to do your due diligence and find out about a project's team, roadmap, experience, partnerships, blogs, proof of concept and many things to make better decisions. Even with all that sometimes a scam can appear real. Maybe if it sounds to good to be true it probably is.
Without a doubt, they are great tips to make good investments, thank you very much for sharing your experience with us, the best way is to be informed, thanks for the annotation buddy, Cheers!
You can add Onecoin to your list :

It really amazes me how people still up to this day fall for such kind of schemes.
