A North Korean performance by a North Korean troupe who landed in South Korea 15 years after the participation of North Korea in the PyeongChang Winter Olympics was held at 8:00 pm at the Gangneung Art Center Siding Hall.
The concert was held in the North Korean song "Cheer up" which is familiar to us. The North Korean Troupe said, "Nice to meet you, I came to Gangneung to celebrate the PyeongChang Winter Olympics with a national race."
Eight female singers in white jeogori and pink hanbok skirts set the tone from the beginning of the performance with a strong voice and a rhythm inducing a response. The performance of the Samjiyeon Orchestra was so confident enough to overwhelm the crowd that the performance hall of 900 seats seemed too narrow.
Next, North Korean songs such as "Down the Snow" dynamically portrayed in the winter scenery of Jeong Dong-jung, "Flying high on the dove," symbolizing peace, and "My country's best," accompanied by a light accompaniment of electronic musical instruments, followed.
