I like bitshares but prefer proof of stake over proof of work. I have not researched bitshares speed though. interestingto know. I use vericoin as my savings account. buy on the low and earn 4% interest.

Spreading Assests is a solid idea. Bitshares is not Proof Of Work either, it uses dPOS. That means Delegated Proof Of Stake. Yet it works different from Proof Of Stake that you use with Vericoin. It could make up a complete post just about that. Fo more info on dPOS click here.
