Is BitShares Admin Legit or Just Another Crypto Trap?

The BitShares community thrives on decentralization, security, and transparency. But what happens when groups claiming to represent the BitShares ecosystem appear suspiciously off the mark? Let's talk about the BitShares Admin Telegram group (link here).

This group, once perhaps intended to help the BitShares community, now seems questionable. The last real activity was September 11th, and instead of useful discussions or BitShares support, the pinned messages are giveaways that just scream scam.

Take a look at these examples:

  1. OKx 2x Crypto Giveaway – promising doubled BTC if you participate. The link? A shady "2xxxxbonusx2.site" URL.
  2. Partnership Giveaway – claiming a partnership with Binance and Trust Wallet. The link directs to "2xbonusbnb.site," another dubious site.

The group’s admins are all “Deleted Accounts,” and the supposed owner is @Paid_promuter_david (was this meant to be "promoter"?). None of this adds up to confidence.

Is This Group Actually Serving BitShares?

If you’re a member of BitShares Admin and you're unsure whether this group is genuine, it’s time to ask some hard questions:

  • Who is running it?
  • Why are all the admins deleted?
  • Do these giveaways align with BitShares' core values of security and decentralization?

What Should the Community Do?

As a decentralized community, we need to protect BitShares' reputation. If a group looks suspicious, we should:

  1. Report it to Telegram for violating community standards.
  2. Warn others in legit BitShares groups about potential scams.
  3. Highlight genuine resources like the BitShares Scam Fighters group: t.me/BitsharesScams.

Staying informed is the best defense. If you're looking for active BitShares groups and reliable information, consider reading the BitShares User Manual here. It’s packed with info on staying safe and making the most out of BitShares.

Let’s work together to ensure BitShares remains a place of trust, not a playground for scammers.

BitShares Community, it's time to clean house.
