The twins BTS and STEEM did it again. For different reasons and due to different situation but who cares.
Lets have a look.
Bitshares
Bitshares lost Bittrex lately but exchange that seems to be second most popular picked it up - Binance and price went up. Notice how in just 1 day they got 2 spots in top10. I have been telling people to register there since long time already. If you didnt, CLICK HERE AND DO IT NOW!
SBD
SBD should always cost 1 USD, but pretty much peg often breaks due to free-market. I remember when SBD got up to 7 USD (if you have time, i have made a comic about it even!) and today it got pumped on Bittrex.
STEEM
STEEM also pumped but was killed fast so didnt do any spectacular moves. This just shows how you should HODL to your coins as you never know when they go up and it can take literally seconds.

Bitshares is on fire - many exchanges listing (binance, zb, aex, xbrick, u.cx) and more importantly... some are starting to use bitCNY and bitUSD as base trading pairs. This is huge news for BTS as bitCNY and bitUSD are backed by 200% of their value in BTS collateral. So the more people use bitCNY/bitUSD the more BTS is locked up as collateral, reducing the circulating supply and putting upward pressure on price. bitCNY supply has been growing massively as China discovers how fast and safe it is - which means millions of BTS are being taken off the market. Booooom!
@johnsmith as you said " the more people use bitCNY/bitUSD the more BTS is locked up as collateral, reducing the circulating supply and putting upward pressure on price. "
This is amazing and it is the case

To the readers of the post: Short links are provided by url shortening services. The short links they provide can be useful in some cases. Generally their use is benign. But as with all useful tools there are dangers. Short links can be used to hide all sorts of things. Quite frequently they are used to hide referral links for instance. While not dangerous this can be deceptive. They can also be used to hide dangerous links such as links to phishing sites, sites loaded with malware, scam sites, etc. You should always be extremely cautious before clicking on one. If you don't know and trust the poster don't click. Even if you do you should still be cautious and wary of any site you are sent to. It's always better to visit the site directly and not through a short link.
To the author of the post: While short links may be useful on some sites they are not needed on steemit. You can use markdown to format your links such as this link to steemit. It's as simple as

Unlike short links this allows the reader to see where they are going by simply hovering over the link before they click on it.I think steem price right now is a joke. everyday is on sale

Thanks dear king I bought 20000 BTS @0.05$ feeling blessed thanks bro.
Wow! Thanks for the heads up.
Why did Steem and SBD jump so much? Is this a pump or based on news?
Looks like they began trading on the Korean Exchanges today. I made a post about it:
https://steemit.com/steem/@freeforever/breaking-news-steem-and-steem-based-dollar-is-skyrocketing-steem-sbd
so China and Korea pump coins based on Graphene ;)
is Xhina doing investment secretly? Becasue they banned many ICO fund raising.
If the money is already in crypto...
on which exchange you trading
I try to mainly use COSS but I’m invested in it.
Awesome! Gonna read your post now. Thanks!
Anyone know why the price between SBD & Steem are so different?
I'm guessing it has something to do with the supply.
In theory SBD is supposed to stay at $1, while STEEM moves according to supply and demand. In practice SBD is not perfectly stable at $1 and is susceptible to these sorts of pumps, only returning to $1 after some delay.
We have internal market makers who are assigned the task of providing liquidity and meeting demand when necessary, correct? Or is that something the witnesses are responsible for? Or is it a combination of the two? What are the mechanisms to keep SBD "pegged"? Would be a great article. 😉
SBD is what one might call 'half-pegged'. That is, pegged from falling much below $1 but not particularly from rising about $1. If it falls below $1, then market makers (or anyone) can profitably buy up SBD, and convert it into STEEM, both raising the price of SBD and reducing its supply. However, if it rises above $1 then the only mechanism to get more SBD into circulation and satisfy that demand is to wait for more posting rewards. There are both advantages and disadvantages to this system. A proposal was made by @timcliff to allow conversions in the opposite direction which would make it more of a real-time two-way peg.
Thanks so much for helping me to better understand SBD. Very interesting. I think I kind of like it as it is.
SBD can be used differently right?
Supply is the thing but demand also plays a role

WOW, I just voted UP on your posting and It went from $98.00 to $125.00
That was $27 difference
I've started using bitshares this week, its an amazing platform!
yea but the internal market doesn't trade at fraction of seconds speed , steem is taking a dive right now!!!
Let hope steem caches up
Upvoted, thank you!!!
I wont more pumps! :)
This is real magic!!!
Steem and SDolla was very quiet for last few days, so this spike is just a beginning of pump and dump famous song.
Meanwhile last week or few, other shitcoins were having very wild rides.

9.5% a year with a decreasing rate.
Cryptos are really the new way to win some money if you you're smart enough. Hope this will continue !
BTS will be very huge soon. I bought some when bittrex killed it.. now double value :)
From their Twitter account: BitShares would clear the entire 100k bitcoin mempool backlog in 3 seconds, maybe 6.
Potential... maybe will be huge. Also their exchange looks very good. But maybe without support of big exchanges like bittrex they have no chance.
What do you think?
it is very interesting that this is the case
Nice information about sbd rate.
Great information for all stemian.
SBD should always cost 1 USD, but pretty much peg often breaks due to free-market. I remember when SBD got up to 7 USD (if you have time, i have made a comic about it even!) and today it got pumped on Bittrex.
I don't really understand how this will benefit users long-term..?
Higher Steem price equals more valuable payouts and therefore greater incentives to post, and being added to more exchanges gives people greater access to buying Steem
Thank you very much for clearifying this ! ;)
Truly so that.wow!!!! thanks for sharing this income image.
Yaaaay! Steem > $1 again
I had recently bought some BTS, now I wish that I would have bought more! It was about 2,000 BTS coins.
i love using binance!
Real great news I am very happy .....
I am also happy. you done great job on steemit. thanks for this post. superb.
nice work ;)
Great..thanx for sharing
The internal market shows Steem at about half what it started today at. Not sure what happened.
Because SBD is at $2.00 on poloniex and bittrex, so it was a good idea to sell cheaply STEEM on internal market because you could still earn a lot selling those SBD on polo and bittrex.

Unlike short links this allows the reader to see where they are going by simply hovering over the link before they click on it.Quick question. In the internal market, the Last Price is at $0.50. What does this mean? is that STEEM or SBD? I feel like I shouldn't be confused with this, but I'm trying to figure it out
SBD are at 2 USD and steem is about 1 USD so one steem equals half an SBD or 0.50
That makes a lot of sense. Thanks for the clarification
Yep! Huge pump. I now have a bunch of it and will HODL for a long time to come.
I just did a post about the STEEM spike and was offering a 100% vote for a definitive answer. May not be one though.
Very informative
wow great news for me. Thanks @kingscrow for your information. w8 for your reply
So this explains why the estimated payouts seem to be increasing. I still have tons to know about crypto, but hopefully in time, I can fully digest. More power!
At a sudden! That’s how they do happen, cryptos makes moves in a mysterious ways, leaving masses to their greatest surprise,
Always good to know when you might have a few extra dollars.
Thanks for the great information......I need to watch it a lot closer and have some money ready....

In 2018 steem price will be $3
Where's your crystal ball? :p
@kingscrown Nicely done. Thank you for sharing.
Steems future is looking bright.
I have some steem but I will hold it. Till then who know it will go up like lisk. From few cents to ten dollar.
Once bitcoin hits it's bear market, I think alts including STM will rise!
SBD will sky rocket BECAUSE OF TETHER ! the people in poloniex is not stupid they would prefer a blockchain dollar over a private token.
Are you THE vegan cyclist aka Tyler?
and is just the beginning, We're cumming for you POLO...
The Steem is now going up and going up. And i know it will be next year going a strong position
steemit is a nice place to earn money...
