The Mission of the Billion Hero Campaign is to raise up a billion heroes to accomplish Big Heroic Audacious Goals (BHAGs) for Humanity.
Our method is to select greatly undervalued digital currencies, grow them to full potential and use that growth to achieve BHAGs set by humanity. Small nest eggs can become big war chests in The Million to Billion Club.
Our first three choices are Bitcoin, BitShares, and the Hero.
What's a BHAG?
Well, here's the original definition:
A Big Hairy Audacious Goal (BHAG) is a strategic business statement similar to a vision statement which is created to focus an organization on a single medium-long term organization-wide goal which is audacious, likely to be externally questionable, but not internally regarded as impossible.
We want to elevate our vision from merely Hairy to truly Heroic! Goals on the level of John F. Kennedy's Space Program.
The difference between hairy and heroic is not just one of scale, but one of risk and obstacles to be overcome. Heroic Goals have the potential to inspire and unite all of humanity -- and make a permanent global difference!
Anyone can propose a BHAG and work hard to rally support for it under our Billion Hero Campaign. Doing so would certainly qualify as an act of heroism. If you push that boulder up the hill far enough, others may see your heroism and rally around to help you. And if you push it high enough, you might get some A-List Celebrities and other high-visibility leaders to join your cause. Before you know it, you could have a million heroes behind you.
We want to make it possible for anyone to be a hero and everyone to participate in a heroic cause.
What kind of BHAGs are we talking about?
Well, here are some modern day moon shots I wouldn't be surprised to see someone propose This Summer:
BHAG #1 - Build a fair and honest world financial system.
BHAG #2 - Localize food production with a vertical farm in every province.
BHAG #3 - Switch the world over to clean energy.
BHAG #4 - Make a new Matrix 4 movie.
BHAG #5 - Move Bitcoin onto BitShares then move BitShares onto EOS.
Note that not every BHAG has to be deadly serious or profoundly noble.
It just has to be something enough people want to see happen.

Love the vision, @stan. My BHAG is to find a way to establish a worldwide open-source free seed bank, ideally run off cryptocurrency. I'm still brainstorming on how it would work but ideally you'd earn currency for sharing your seeds and could spend it on other varieties, ideally connecting in person as well as online through seedswap meetups. Maybe each library could be a part of this network. Onward and upward!

My BHAG is to make a fully featured social network based on blockchain. Not just a reddit clone as Steemit.

My wife and I have Big Heroic Audacious Goals (BHAGs) for Humanity that include:
Leveraging this technology to help charities, such as Makers and Means International, complete their missions at lower costs due to low transaction fees for sending money over seas
Build a resort property
Provided rest and rejuvenation programs to people doing charitable work so they can get a break when they feel they are on the brink of burnout
Develop a refuge center for women that will help them escape the traps of sex trafficking and the sex trade
Open a dog rescue
Own our own brewery and
Anything else we come up with between now and then!
I think I'm in just because of #4! Love the ideas @stan and definitely think localizing the food production can change the world. Let's do this!

How high on the list of priorities is goal #4? Can we get it moved up?
The purpose of the Billion Hero Campaign is to have all humanity vote on what gets moved up. Start getting your solid ideas written up and designate a BHAG bitshares account for people to designate with their vote. Stay tuned for an upcoming example.

Hi Stan. When will you have the finalized the rules for the Market Hero contest? Does each team need to have a 501(c)(3), or just a BHAG?
Just a BHAG. Vote for the BitShares account you want to receive the prize. Could be a for profit company wanting to buy swampland in the Sahara, if that's what you like. It up to the account owner to earn your trust and respect.
Rules are still evolving, but its basically giving points for accomplishing tasks and holding assets on the DEX. The billionherocampaign.com website will be up shortly and that will be the place for the latest official information. A fancier site is a month or so away. It will keep growing.

This is a great post! I'm glad to have found it. Since I was a small child in 7th grade I have been writing about education reform. I have now completed my 5 year project which is a memoir/manifesto mixed with a Daliesque style of art. The book itself is designed to go viral. Bottom-line; help humanity reach full-potential. I'm now looking for an agent and crafting my pitch. Definitely interested in reading more of your stuff and I am going to look into BHAG more. Thanks again for your post.
