Considering the significant weight of Larimer’s reputation in the crypto community, this adds enormous credibility to the BitcoinLatina project. For those not in the know, Larimer is a long-time blockchain evangelist and, as previously mentioned, “Godfather” of Bitshares and Steemit. He was a 40-year veteran of the American aerospace industry with stints at Lockheed Martin, Boeing and the US Air Force Academy (where he taught rocket science, no less!) before turning his significant technical skills to solving blockchain-related challenges.
Today’s announcement follows another exciting announcement yesterday by the Foundation about its tie-up with CubeCab to launch 300 satellites into low earth orbit to bring internet connectivity to underserved areas in Latin America.
The news seems to be coming at a rapid clip out of the BitcoinLatina Foundation. With heavyweights such as Larimer now joining the project, the success of all its ambitious goals seems more likely than ever.
In any case, today’s announcement is an excellent opportunity for anyone who has been following BitcoinLatina’s progress and is interested in getting involved in it.
