in #bitshares8 years ago

Welcome to the 21st Bitshares State of the Network (BSotN) report. I will be releasing this report weekly to look at the changes in the ecosystem and track longer term changes in a effort to identify emerging trends and changes in the Bitshares platform.

Bitshares - State of the Network - 8th February 2017

The Bitshares State of the Network Reports seeks to combine raw data from a wide range of metrics and combine them into meaningful information to identify emerging trends and changes in the Bitshares network.

Observation from this week

This section will highlight any observations made while analysing the data.

  • @svk new GUI release; featuring jaw dropping charts (i have included a picture below this section), bug fixes and many other UI improvements; find the official announcement HERE

  • BlockPay v.1.52 is available on the Google play store. This release features UI updates, Loyalty Points upgraded to the new graphenej library and speed improvements. See the official announcement HERE

  • Peerplays has announced they have developed an API that works with the Unity gaming engine; to give you an idea of the scale of this announcement. There is currently 4.5 million developers creating games with Unity and those games have over 770 million users! This is like strapping 'Big Fat Rocket Boosters' on to the project :). To hear more listen to the Beyond Bitcoin recording HERE

  • @bloggersclub (Openledger) has announced that they will be share-dropping QORA on 50,000 openledger signups - for more details see the official post HERE

  • Christoph Hering (@chris4210) Co-Founder & CEO of Bitshares Munich is looking to start a Liquidity/Trading competition, providing prize money for the best traders / trading bots in a predefined period of time; Details are still being defined but please submit your input and RSVP your spot HERE

  • Openledger has preformed its monthly Buyback&Burns operations for the OBITS and BTSR tokens. This Month 49,812 OBITS were purchased from the market using 625,079 BTS and 0.272 BTC as well as 22,485 BTSR from ETH, BTC, BTS and USD markets. find more details HERE

  • Openledger has preformed its monthly sharedrop of Open.BTC onto ICOO holders. This month 390 holders shared a portion of 4.63 BTC See more details HERE

  • @xeroc has hinted in the comments that he is keen to work with @svk to bring Bitshares and Steem Trezor Integration, the pair attended a hackathon hosted by Satoshi Labs and were able to sign and broadcast a Graphene based transaction with the Trezor hardware wallet so all that is required is a front end wallet and maintenance; something i think the communities of both Bitshares and Steem would be happy to crowdfund. This is not official as yet but it is exciting to think about. Comment referenced can be found HERE

  • Bitshares user Bitcrab has started 2 worker proposals for the sole purpose of a stake waited vote on Witness Pay. 1 worker proposal is for no increase in pay rate, the other worker proposal is for an increase to 4 BTS per block. Current pay rate is 1.5 BTS per block. Please join the discussion HERE and cast your vote in the Bitshares wallet

  • @kencode weekly update can be found HERE and as always their is a mountain of updates relating to BlockPay, C-IPFS, Stealth and the Android Smartcoin wallet.

  • @jonnybitcoin has made a great post on liquidity in the markets and different method to increase liquidity. Jonny is also kick starting this initiative by providing buy and sell orders in the BitUSD:Open.USDT markets; this is perfect opportunity for anyone as both tokens have the same face value so no need to worry about bots or updating orders as you can just set it and forget it. see more details HERE

  • The latest Beyond Bitcoin Hangout had appearances from @peerplays, @mrwang, @apptrade and @virtualgrowth recording can be found HERE

  • This weeks Bitshares hangout recording can be found HERE

  • Centz ICO date has changed to March 31st 2017; the Pre ICO will be open until the 30th of March 2017

  • Bitshares has moved up 3 places to be the 61st most influential blockchain companies in the Richtopia The 100 Most Influential Blockchain Companies

  • The last asset registered this week is asset #1267 and it is named 'GALLEON' registered by 'trade-ceeds' with the description 'Experience the magic of trading the GALLEON UIA.'.

  • Current registered wallets/accounts within the Bitshares network is 154594; an increase of 445 wallets/accounts since last week

Jaw Dropping Charts

This chart is directly from the Bitshares wallet! it is better than most if not all big time centralized exchanges; Bitshares has them in a decentralized alternative! IMHO: simply stunning!

My breath was taken away here and there! WHOAAAAA... Thank you for sharing this magnificent and hopeful. All for one and one for all! Namaste :)

Thank you for your kind words :)
Namaste

wow great article lots of information and much reading fabulous

Glad you like it! Thanks for the comment :)

I agree with you. After watching "Banking on Bitcoin" I have no doubt that crypto currency is the future.

Thank you for the information.

Thanks Virtualgrowth. I nearly threw in a comment for you in regards to Jonnybitcoin and MM bitusd:open.usdt thought it might be right up you alley!

Yes, have been getting more involved with trading with bitshares. :)

Thanks for the info! One question: Can I send my BTS from OL using only the OWNER PERMISSIONS key? I used the same password but, not it says that is incorrect, but I can see my name in the right corner. Can you help me?

We can only try; owner key is the highest authority so if you have it in tact; i am a bit worried you are talking about a password being incorrect but i think the best way to handle this is if you join us on the 'BitsharesDEX' telegram channel then we can talk in real time and see if we can get you issue sorted out

Can I add you on steemit chat or FB and talk there, I'm not used with telegram. Let me know.

Sure we can chat on steemit.chat; but i am not at my computer at the moment and wont be online until tomorrow.
Send me a PM (my account is steempower) and i will chat to you when i am online tomorrow.

Ok, thanks a lot for your time and the help you provided so far.Cheers!

numbers inspire!

Some of us ;)

Stunning information. Thank you!

Glad you like it :)

I hold quite some BTS so hope BTS will go up again. Current price is far too low.

I agree it seems like bargain basement prices atm :) Thank you for the comment

Yes and with both projects beeing related, i feel steemit is a good medium to share information and thus create awareness. I will contribute too in this regard!

I welcome the updates, and I'm flagging only to reduce (but not eliminate) the rewards on this post. I'm aware of the historical connections between Steem and Bitshares (and indeed that is a large part of the reason this post is overrewarded, as likely were the other 20), but after almost a year, it is time for Steem to stand on its own, and for Bitshares posts to be viewed as they are: Reasonable "crypto news" posts about the #26 (by market cap) blockchain project. Such posts are welcome, and it is perfectly reasonable for them to receive some rewards, but they don't belong near or at the top of Trending IMO. I would prefer to see a portion of these rewards redistributed to many other posts and posters.

Sad to see this action; but at least i can say i appreciate that you left a comment.

Your opinion is obviously your own; but i do get the impression that these weekly reports are well received and appreciated; if i didn't i would spend many hours producing them each week; my impressions are based off the comments i receives; the 200 avg views per week as well as seeing the reports being translated to Russian and Chinese as well as being reposted to Facebook, Twitter and Golos where they are loved, retweeted and regolod..?..

I also think you will find that in the future Steem and Bitshares will have more than just history in common ;)

Thank you for the comment.

regolod..?..

LOL. Well like I said, it is good quality work and I'm sure that is the result of serious effort and care. I didn't mean to imply otherwise in any way. I'm supportive of crypto news and project reports, and if this post weren't already getting massive vote support, I'd probably vote for it (as I have for other crypto-related posts). All a matter of a balance.
