Thanks Bittrex and Bill, Fantastic work, but I downvoted this to keep the rewards from going too high for an 'announcement' post. That takes money away from the pool that rewards authors.
by downvote do you mean flag? or just choosing not to vote at all?
Your idea is a cool one. As someone who spends 10-12 hours a week just for one hangout, I have a bias toward your approach. However, I will say that if someone announces that hillary clinton is going to prison---I will upvote that before I upvote my own comment ;)
I guess my point is...there ARE some sexy announcements worth paying a good bit for, and if everyone announces certain things in a flood of copycat posts it may not always be a bad thing (though most the time it likely will be).
I think rewarding the guys that are hosting steem on their exchanges and have the most volume right now isn't a bad thing... That would give more incentives to other exchange owners to include steem in their exchanges sooner than expected... (even if the reason are selfish I don't care)
You probably love irony. Do not vote down. That is bad. You must love communism.
I love capitalism. I want to take money. I want to make a lot of money.
And you say that a lot of money is bad.
I'm gonna post this here because there's already enough Steem(it) referencing top-level posts, but holy crap, look at STEEM volume on Bittrex, it's beating ETH!:
This is awesome! Now instead of moving from SBD to Steem in the internal Market, then transferring the Steem to Bittrex and then trading Steem for Bitcoin, we can move SBD to Bittrex and trade them for Bitcoin.
Now all we need is a trading bot developed that will check the prices of Steem and SBD on both the internal market and Bittrex and automate the trades against the spread and we should have a nice stable, liquid market.
You should consider joining us for next week's hangout and announce this as well :)
With the addition of sbd to bittrex, you guys have made some very good friends who are very interested in using the exchange for this function...you never know what nerds will do to help when they know what you are up to...
And beyond bitcoin hangouts are considered by many of the community to be one of the hubs of our interaction and real life communication.
Thank you for your support. We're in the midst of a site redesign that will add USD trading and greatly improve the usability for newer users. I'm hoping the less tech saavy people who love Steemit will be able to easily cross over into Bittrex.
This is great to hear. With all of the coins you guys support, you could easily have far more users, and therefore far more volume and liquidity. But some aspects of your current UI are seriously holding you back. So I'm looking forward to the changes and I'm optimistic about the possibility of having a true competitor to Poloniex.
Make a dark themed UI for night-mode and create a stop-loss function, I like the UI except the charts on http://1broker.uk - it is extremely easy to use.
Also, make a trollbox with a reward system - IRC & Slack with tipping-bots is not good enough anymore. A good Bittrex trollbox will make people stay on your site to talk with their friends and that in itself stimulate to a lot more trading.
Basically - shamelessly copy the right side of Poloniex ;) - markets, price-changes etc
oh and - make it so that we can see our P/L and overall portfolio-value in Bitcoin + USD, Euro, etc - peoples local currency.
I'm very new to all this..and probably stupid?! but How exactly can i exchange on this? I don't see where to go do that, maybe someone can help out a bit?...
SBD is the ticker symbol for Steem Dollars on Bittrex exchange. We no longer support new currencies with 2 letter tickers so SBD is what the Steem team agreed to.
Thank you Bittrex-Bill for always adding valuable Markets before any other exchange.
Thank you!!!

There's an argument to bring the down vote button back.

I think the rise is due to the fantastic job Ned and Dan did discussing the Steemit platform on Blocktalk. If you haven't seen the video, please check it out. https://steemit.com/blocktalk/@blocktalk/blocktalk-steemit-s-ned-and-dan

Maybe someone should post about building a liquidity bot and get tipped to do it. :)
Really nice!
Looks like it will take a while for the order books to fill and the price to even out.
True. the last i checked, Steem dollars were trading at $0.65.
6th highest volume and if it expands to Poloniex, it's suddenly going to get very real, very quickly

Would love to have you :)

finally, nice to see SBD on bittrex exchange :)
It's steem dollars not steam dollars ;D
lol noted. Auto-correct is a pain. I'm upvoting you because this post was live for over 16 hours before you noticed.
Thanks!
I love the Bittrex exchange! Keep up the good work!
No, thank you!
Good, stuff. That should tighten up the spread!
good job, that's what we need for supporting steem
pretty neat service. I used it today and it went well, very well.

Do you mind sharing some thoughts on which aspects of the UI are problematic? I'll pass the feedback on to the user interface team.
if I can step in with some opinions:

stuff like that.
Still the most trusted exchange out there, and owners who will actually talk to you. Only recently discovered steemit, great add, bittrex-bill.
I'm enjoying this project. And very much like Reddit, it's addicting and I should stop staring at the feed all day long. :)
Thanks bittrex!
awesome!!!!

COOL
So what exactly is sbd and how does it relate to steem
SBD is the ticker symbol for Steem Dollars on Bittrex exchange. We no longer support new currencies with 2 letter tickers so SBD is what the Steem team agreed to.
