I have, in an attempt to better myself in the gaming industry as a whole and understand the development pipeline, attempted to learn the massive program called "blender". I'm finally starting to see results in my studies. Here is a very simple, totally not the pixar lamp, animation. This was just a practice in building something in 3D, rigging it, and animating it. I'm having a lot of fun doing it too.
This is a good start. I'd suggest starting trying to animate with a bouncing ball. A lamp is deceptively difficult because it's not an item actually made for movement. It takes someone who knows how to animate to fake movement onto it using principles of squash and stretch, and giving a sense of realistic weight through the timing and spacing. A ball allows you to practice timing and spacing without having to worry about overlapping action yet.
Thanks for the tip. Ill make a UV sphere in blender and give that a shot for some practice.
Looks good! Would love to know How to do that. But I guess the closest I will come to gamedesign is to make a game for my kids with RPG Maker :)
Cool! - It's been a while since I made animation, but maybe I should take it up again soon. I feel like making some film again.
