We are already five days into February and I believe that I am far behind on unveiling the Development prompt of the Month.
The Developmetn prompts was an initiative I started this year to give most people who are trying to achieve something tangible this way. It also provides different things you can focus on as the year goes on

When it comes to creating content on Steemit or achieving your goals for the year, you need to update your knowledge base. The only reason why you have nothing to post is because you did not learn anything new that day
The mark of development is the acquiring of new knowledge
The only thing that can ensure a better tomorrow is what you learn today
I also addressed the issues I noticed in people who blog in two popular niches here on Steemit which is Cryptocurrency and Photography

This is one issue really affecting new members on steemit, I'm a new member and I know it's not gonna be easy to drag people's attention to ur contents but we just have to be persistent with giving it all we have. When I joined steemit my post weren't even getting upvotes at all until my friend that introduced me to steemit told me that I need to be trying to read and comment on people's post, you have to follow first before you can lead and that is exactly what I'm doing. Not everyone is a good writer but I believe if u give it your all you will surely get rewarded sooner or later. Thanks to @Destinysaid he's been of great support for me and that is because I'm giving him something of value, he likes my music and he's a music producer so we both have something of interest. No matter what your value is that you're rendering out you'll surely see someone who will like it and be of support to you. So basically I'm still trying to CONNECT with more people including you @ogochukwu and that's the only way one can grow on steemit. Thanks for enlightening us.

The thing is, if you want to receive comments on your posts, you also need to reach out yourself.
You will not get any success if you only post your blog and not comment on other people's blogs. You reap what you sow ;-)

Ah some interesting food for thought, especially that little bit about giving and receiving.
Especially young steemians might struggle with this since they might only think of their “value” here on steemit in terms of their rewards & influence where as they are likely much more valuable in the skills/content they can offer and bring to the community.
You don’t need to give out steem or sbd to contribute in a meanigful way here (although that can be 1 way).
Rallying support for & bringing attention to a particular motive, or as u mentioned, goal can be just as meaningful and effective for providing support for others who may then (also as u mentioned) be more than willing to assit you back.
