Singapore’s diversified group of companies Citystate Group made a seed investment in Ticket2Me, a blockchain-powered ticketing startup from the Philippines. The startup is now gearing for business expansion in Southeast Asia.
Ticket2Me raised $350,000 in fresh capital and reportedly plans to use it to expand operations in major cities outside Metro Manila and Metro Cebu including overseas such as Hong Kong and Malaysia.
Founded in 2017, Ticket2Me claims to be “Southeast Asia’s first blockchain-enabled ticketing marketplace” which also does event registration and audience analytics platform for organizers, ticket buyers and everyone else in between. It established a regional office in Singapore last year.
Another one of Ticket2Me’s short-term goals is the public sale of blockchain-based tokens that ticket buyers and event organizers can use on the platform for 2019.
Besides Ticket2Me’s website and mobile site, its digital ticketing platform apps can be accessed using iOS and Android devices.
“Citystate Group recognizes that there is great market potential for a ticketing platform with regional ambitions and the flexibility to serve local communities for all their venue and event ticketing needs,” said Julie Haw, director of Citystate Group Pte. Ltd.
Citystate Group as a diversified company of 55 subsidiaries, operates in China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and most likely in the Philippines soon with its Ticket2Me investment.
Citystate is into lifestyle travel, food and beverage, restaurant management, property development and management, education, and general insurance underwriting and brokering.
