The latest study of BlockShow Europe, a blockchain convention powered by cryptocurrency news media Cointelegraph, revealed that Switzerland is the best country to build a blockchain startup.
The study which consisted of 48 European countries ranked Switzerland as number one in a list of the top 10 most blockchain-friendly countries. Gibraltar and Malta followed behind as second and third respectively, with the United Kingdom coming in as fourth.
The criteria of the study was based on the countries standard of regulations for blockchain projects including Initial Coin Offerings (ICO), Cryptocurrencies and the taxation frameworks for crypto.
Switzerland has been known as one of the most outstanding blockchain industry hubs in the world; The Swiss ‘Crypto Valley’ is home to the most famous blockchain firms and organizations in the world, including the Enterprise Ethereum Alliance.
The Swiss government has recently revealed that it is considering launching its own cryptocurrency, which will be known as e-franc.
Gibraltar have also recently become a hub for ICOs, the country has reportedly attracted more than 200 ICOs before the planned launch of its Gibraltar Blockchain Exchange (GBX).
Malta is looking to become a virtual currency hub with its establishment of friendly regulations for the industry. The Island has already attracted major crypto exchanges like Binance and OkEx.
Other countries included in the list are Denmark, Germany, Portugal, The Netherlands, Finland and Belarus.
