Meet the Hackathon winner 6Side and their app Gifter

We recently ran a Hackathon for developers to build a dApp using the Credit Protocol that would solve a problem in consumer finance. We had many exciting entries, but one overall winner, 6Side and their app Gifter. Gifter is an in-browser extension for Google Chrome built on the Credit Protocol that can store and record digital gift cards for use at participating e-commerce sites.

We recently interviewed the team to learn more about how Gifter came together, and what they had to overcome. When asked about some of their initial challenges, 6Side had this to say:

"Initially, there was a little bit of a learning curve for some of our team. Blockchain is pretty new and there was a lot of experimenting and ideation to be done."

Blockmason launches Lndr's first coding bounty

Have you ever wanted to work with the Blockmason engineering team? Now's your chance! From time to time, our team works with outside developers to help build and implement features, and today, we're announcing our first coding bounty for Lndr: the Identity Verification Project.

As described on GitHub, this project will involve working in React Native, Haskell and with third-party web APIs to build an identity verification process into Lndr. As you know if you have been following our development updates, our team is hard at work developing features for Lndr. Having a bounty for this project allows us to speed up the release of new features for Lndr without having to spread our development team's efforts too thin.

This bounty is run in partnership with Gitcoin, the largest blockchain + open-source development bounty community. To learn more about the project, or to participate and work directly with the Blockmason team, visit the project issue on GitHub.
