Blockchain presentation

in #blockchain6 years ago

I am about to give a presentation on the subject of blockchain, and since I rarely give presentations on anything it is kind of getting on my nerves, especially because I was told to be here at 8:30 and it turns out that I have to wait until 11. I thought I would write it off and maybe it would lighten me up. I am mainly going to present to my consultant and a few fellow students at the uni I go to, so it isn't a big deal, and I am not going the technical details too much.

I am going to start off with a basic definition of the blockchain, - the public blockchain to be exact - to give the "audience" an idea what it actually is. Essentially, blockchain is a decentralized, immutable and transparent database run by the consensus of its users. Then I am going to give them some technical information: the peer-to-peer network, the hash algorithms, public key cryptography and most importantly the structure of data in the blockchain.

I am going to follow this with the description of the development phases of the technology. Bitcoin, as blockchain 1.0, Ethereum as 2.0, Nakamoto, Buterin smart contracts, decentralized applications etc.

Finally, I am going to present some use cases, and share some information about those. Storj, Steem, Exergy, the voting system in Estona and some more.

I really hope I am not going to choke, that would be a shame, really.
