The 6 key features of Bond platform

Bond Film Platform

Bond is a decentralized video streaming service and crowdinvesting platform for the new Film and Video Industry, based on cryptocurrency economy.

If someone would ask me what makes the Bond Platform so revolutionary, I would probably list the following qualities that make it absolutely unique:

  1. Content Ownership is stored on the blockchain, thus becoming an immutable, public and tradable asset, which also allows all content owners to receive their share of royalties without any additional efforts on their part
  2. Royalties are distributed without the middleman: all monetary flows on Bond Platform are performed by our Smart Contract, which always takes into account Content Ownership
  3. Users support their favorite authors financially by simply watching their videos! Every time someone watches a video, owners of that video make a profit!
  4. Users can also invest in future content and become co-owners, which means they will receive future revenues from ALL views of the produced content

and… 2 more unique features of Bond Platform:

  1. Users need to pay Fixed Monthly Fee to get access to the content and support its owners. This fee is then distributed by our smart algorithm to all the authors this user has watched.
  2. Content publishing is Not Free, but costs a small fixed fee as well…
    * cost of initialization of new Smart Contract on Etherium blockchain,
which at current ETH price of $500 USD will be around $4–5 per published video

Hmm..

Now I see a few raised eyebrows.

Not only the Bond Platform requires a monthly subscription payment from regular users, but it also takes a fee for Each Uploaded Video?

How on earth do you want people to buy into this idea (pun intended) ?
Who is going to use a service that charges its users for everything?

The answer may not seem obvious, but it is simple and quite profound:

Real content freedom begins when and only when everyone starts paying for watching and publishing.

Take any popular social network for example. Their fundamental statement is “We give you everything for FREE !”. Watching videos is FREE. Reading text is FREE. Publishing and commenting is FREE…

Really ? We all honestly believe that?

Unfortunately, we are all aware of the fact that social networks OWN our content and make tons of profits from it. But this is the way things are today. Its a standard way of doing business. That’s what we have all got used to…

But I didn’t. I sincerely believe that today’s content economy is faulty. And it will be fixed sooner or later. The revolution in content revenue distribution is inevitable and we will be witnessing it with our own eyes in a few years time. And this big paradigm shift will be possible thanks to one seemingly uncomplicated idea.

The idea of DECENTRALIZATION, which is probably one of the most revolutionary and deep ideas the humanity has ever come up with. It will change the world as we know it and in the ways that we will not be able to predict. But we can be absolutely sure of one thing:

Decentralization will kill the middleman.

And no middleman in the world will be left untouched. Every business, every service, every economy which has middleman somewhere in it, will be changed beyond recognition and will be replaced with a different kind of economy — a decentralized one, where middleman just cannot exist. Because frankly there is no such concept in the decentralized world.

But this change must first happen in our minds. We should start seeing the things we’re accustomed to in a completely new light.
You can’t get rid of middleman by simply by removing it from the revenue distribution chain, the current economy will collapse. Instead, you must rethink the whole economic model and come up with a gently knitted, self-sustaining and closely scrutinized decentralized economy for each market.

When we started working on this project over a year ago, we didn’t think it would take us so long to get to the answer. It took a lot of trial and error, of building something and then abandoning it completely because some part of the economic puzzle didn’t fit and we didn’t see the clear and complete picture.
But I think we finally managed to figure it out and we strongly believe that Bond’s revenue distribution model IS the way the new content economy should function.

The easiest way to show the benefits of our decentralization economy is by example:

On Bond, the monthly subscription fee is $7 USD. Let’s imagine an author who uploads a 10-20 minute video and pays $5 for it (as we mentioned above — this payment is for Smart Contract execution on Etherium blockchain to establish Content Ownership for the author).
Now let’s say his video receives 10 000 views from his followers. This is not a very popular video by “current world standards” and on any social platform, it would bring its owner zero revenue.

But imagine for a second how those 10 000 people look like:

This is a huge crowd. And any theatrical performance or conference would be happy to host so many people for a single event. But in the realm of social networking — it’s, eeeh, ok.. A common everyday thing.

Now let’s get back to our platform and do simple math.
At the end of the month, our smart revenue distribution algorithm will calculate how much each user will PAY this author for watching this video. Our algorithm takes into account length of the video and how long each user has watched it.
We can safely assume that each user watches no more than 70 authors per month. This means that our author will receive AT LEAST 10 cents from each user. Now let’s do some easy calculations. 10 000 views, 10 cents per view…

Our author will receive $1000 USD for ONE VIDEO !!??

Can you imagine how much he or she will make per month? Or how much an author with 100 000 views per video will be making? Million views?

What will happen when professionals — scriptwriters, producers, directors, animators will start producing high-quality content, which will receive millions of views and followers? How will our films, shows, web series, video blogs, etc, will change? How will the quality of content change when authors will know the benefits a good production can bring them?

I don't know about you, but it is really hard for me to imagine what the new world of content will look like when we will finally change its economic model. The possibilities here are endless, but I am sure of one thing:

The human creativity will thrive in this new world like it never did before.

I know that it may take a long time to change the common view on this subject. But I also know that this is the way the world should function.

And I will do everything I can to make it happen.
