Introducing the Four Major Services of BORA Ecosystem

in #blockchain6 years ago

During recent years Bitcoin and Ethereum have become household names and probably most people may have heard of blockchain technology. Even though blockchain technology is starting to become mainstream, most people still do not know how the blockchain works, let alone how to use it. There is still a large gap that needs to be filled when it comes to making blockchain technology more user-friendly.

One area in which blockchain technology can thrive is the content industry. One of the challenges being faced by content providers is issue of copyright protection. Within our modern digital world, it is almost impossible for content creators to protect their own work. Music, videogames, written articles, etc are more often than not pirated or copied, without compensating or crediting the original creator. By leveraging the power of blockchain technology it becomes possible to fairly compensate content creators for their work and this is where BORA ecosystem comes into play.

What is BORA?
The BORA project gets its name from the tropical island BORA BORA and strives to be a decentralized platform that facilitates content providers by making it easier to connect to the blockchain ecosystem. Currently, many content creators are come across barriers to enter the blockchain space. For instance, steep development costs and a lack of technical understanding results in millions of content providers who are missing out on the benefits provided by blockchain technology.

The BORA project provides four major services, which are all conveniently named with a oceanic theme. The four major service will be discussed below and consist of: BORA Island, BORA Atoll, BORA Lagoon, and BORA Explorer.

BORA Island

Bora Island is the base of the BORA ecosystem and can be seen as BORA’s mainnet. BORA Island is set to launch in the second quarter of 2019. BORA Island can be considered as a Scalable High-Performance platform that adopts a side chain connected through the Ethereum network. The BORA Island platform allows users to experience various digital content or play videogames within the BORA ecosystem. Users can also access various services such as: managing their BORA wallet and managing/exchanging their tokens. BORA Island will be an easy to use platform where content creators can easily share their content and in return be fairly compensated for their work.

BORA Atoll

The BORA Atoll is the place where partners and content providers can find the necessary information to facilitate getting their content out on the blockchain. The information will be very user-friendly so that every content provider will be able to make use of the BORA platform. Also various tool kits will be available regarding the platform interoperability-related REST APIs, as well as a number of tools that can be used to analyze data.

BORA Lagoon

BORA Lagoon is already live and is the result of months of research and development by the BORA team. BORA Lagoon acts as the testnet for the BORA Island platform. BORA Lagoon allows users/developers to verify and test their content and collaborate with the BORA team to advance the BORA project. BORA Lagoon will act as a communication layer for users and developers as the team continues to develop the BORA Island platform.

If you are interested, you can test BORA Lagoon for yourself here: https://testnet.bora-lagoon.com/portal/ . Just request some BORA test tokens, which can be used to test the exchange with a currency that can be used within the platform called BORA SHELL. BORA SHELL is a lower form of BORA token, a currency used within the BORA platform. Its name is derived from the shell we find at the beach, which was the very first currency of humanity.

BORA Explorer

Through the BORA Explorer users can look-up the transaction information that is recorded in the BORA chain during the development and testing phase. Once BORA Island launches, BORA Explorer will also provide the transaction history and the transparent block data of BORA Island.
