I am looking for someone to do some quality market research and compare the top platforms on several key metrics including:
- number of users
- number of active users
- transactions per day
- growth rates
- market cap per user
I am sure there are other stats that can be used to make a more comprehensive comparison. A well written article would be likely be very useful to the entire industry. The comment section of this post can be used to gather information.
Write something quality and comprehensive and the best one will get my votes.
@dan, have you seen this study by the DC Federal Reserve on this subject?:http://www.federalreserve.gov/econresdata/feds/2014/files/2014104pap.pdf?p=cite_@inthepixels
As of the beginning of 2014, the Fed concluded that bitcoin had 100,000 unique daily users, and that the number of unique daily users had doubled approximately every eight months over the prior three years. Extrapolating those numbers to the present puts the current number of unique daily users at about 1.6 million.
I've written on the additional implications of the Fed's paper here: https://steemit.com/bitcoin/@sean-king/calculating-bitcoin-s-worldwide-domination-day
i would be happy to be of assistance on the graphical stuff for a nice visualization if needed!
do it +5% !! :D
BTC, LTC, ETH, and XRP: At the current rate, we're heading for their territory pretty soon.
This better all get added to steemle.com too! ;] And possibly an hourly activity breakdown chart such as when the most posts are created throughout an average day or something like that..?
Metrics are fun to look at and great for a prospectus. I've listened to a lot of day traders in crypto who said bitcoin is like an index. I tend to disagree with that notion, as most of these currencies run on different platforms with different end goals.
I think its important to get the numbers , but Warren Buffet himself said he invests in things he understands... Granted he was wrong about bitcoin, but hey we all make mistakes. I think It would be important to add what each coins goal and history, not just a promise to make more money ! These are also important to investors when choosing where to put their money.
I'd also be very interested in having access to this (these?) data! It may come in handy in my new series on the Game Theory of Steem.
ok
@dan, I think I just lost 218 STEEM trying to transfer to bittrex. Can you help me out?
You can compare Daily Active Addressess and some other metrics using https://bitinfocharts.com. Here you can see that the number of active addresses on Ethereum has been greater than the number of active addresses on Bitcoin for the last 6 straight days: https://bitinfocharts.com/comparison/activeaddresses-btc-eth.html#6m
this looks more than sufficient to me
