The blockchain is on everyone's lips and more and more major companies are looking for a solution to the integration of the technology. In a press release, the German chemical giant BASF has now announced that it intends to use the blockchain to improve its supply chain.
In collaboration with the startup Quantos and the Dutch company Ahrma, the company is researching an "intelligent pallet", according to BASF, to inform the distributors about the current location and all the movements. In addition to providing information about the current status and the load load, they should also provide information about a possible impact or fall. The aim of this project is the reduction and tracking of unexpected damage.
Thanks to the blockchain technology, the company can ensure that the data remains consistent and unadulterated. BASF says, "the combination of intelligent pallet and blockchain offers a promising outlook on a secure and transparent material and data flow."
