Basic Income For Everyone?
Seeing the news and reading up on various sources for the seemingly very rapid progress of Artificial Intelligence & robotics. I hope many can see the need for somehow being able to secure a basic income for every human being.
No matter what people might say, education is just not enough to secure peoples ability to be able to support themselves and their families. In a future where an ever increasing use of AI's and robotics will take away jobs.
The idea that, someone have to service those AI's and robots, somehow is gonna save people from loosing jobs is just not possible in my opinion.
a lot of people just don't have the abilities necessary to become support personnel for some very advanced equipment.
Be it simply the ability to pay for an education can be a mountain to climb in itself, many people in the world are still not able to read, and do basic math. Not because they are not intelligent, but because they are just too poor, and by that being cut away from being able to better themselves with education.
After I have been thinking about these issues, my conclusion so far is we need a way to tax, yes I said tax, the robots work. That tax should then go to pay for a universal basic income.
But how would we tax the robots of this basic income future?
Well "Blockchains" could be the solution, it should be feasible to make 'smart contracts' that would pay the tax for the robots automatically.
The basic idea that I am proposing is that every robot should be tax'ed for the time they use working (not just a tax when brought). Just like a 'real' person is paying tax of their salaries, robots need to do the same.
It would help pay for a future where robots / AI's can coexist without taking away from human beings unable to find jobs and support themselves.
I totally agree with you and this blockchain solution may be the answer. If they are set up as a universal computer in which their work is taxed.
Many jobs are about to disappear. These include Taxi drivers, fast food workers, basic level call center operators, middle management financial analysts, and so many more. The jobs will be gone from all parts of the system both lower income and higher income.
