"Blockchain and bitcoins can play an important role in terms of empowering women in the marginalized communities. Blockchain could create a world of new opportunities for third world countries. "I believe that many of the world's problems centering around education and poverty in developing countries could be solved with women in control of capital.

Here is the list of few successful women who proved their excellence in the field of blockchain technology.

Kristen Stone is a Project Manager @ Coinbase USA
She has been in the Blockchain industry for almost 3 years. In early stages, she led partnerships at Coinbase.com and handled integrations with some major financial institutions like USAA and Fidelity. Lately, Kristen was promoted to a project management role where she leads 3 engineering teams to aid Coinbase to develop an open financial system for the world.

Danielle Laity - Product Manager @ Luno
She first heard of Bitcoin during her time in the Standard Bank Graduate Program. She was working as a Product Analyst in “Cross Border” and “Domestic Payments” and was asked to do study more into payments creation. Bitcoin came up as a debatable topic at the time and it fascinated her. She watched endless videos in youtube to comprehend it and started to look for someone within the bank who shared her enthusiasm in cryptos. While she was in the Innovation Capability department, She was taking care of Open Innovation and part of this was developing new services with outside people. Luno was one of the companies that she engaged with from the Fintech. The role also allowed her to travel and identify multiple applications of different technologies in the financial industry.

Kathleen Breitman is COO at Tezos
She first got into cryptocurrencies way back in 2012. She had a lot of cypherpunk friends updating her about it and she thought it could become a digital asset in the future. At that time, she did not see a clear way for her to contribute to the industry. Nevertheless, in 2014 she was working at one of the management consulting company and many clients that started asking about Bitcoin. She had more knowledge than any other at the company so she raised her hand and started to contribute to the company.
In 2015, she thought, if she really have any type of expertise she should pursue a startup company because she will have more upside there. She had a bit more understanding because of her exposure to capital markets. She left R3 in to manage the release of Tezos.

A new woman entering the field of crypto's recently. https://steemit.com/cryptocurrency/@remyremy/a-crypto-girl-you-should-watch-on-youtube-addendum
And Amanda Johnson of DASH is also a good example.

Unfortunately, it's a male dominated area...just like tech in general. I'm not saying there are 0 women in tech...but in terms of percentages, it's very heavily men.

For sure technology area is dominated by male, but number of women are increasing quickly. Some specialist say that women are better than men because they are more involved.

Unfortunately men have created cryptos? Or unfortunately women havent? Or unfortunately men are better with technology? Or what do you mean.

Feels like you are trying to make my comment sexist.

I'm talking from just my personal experience in working in large and small tech companies, going to college for a technology degree and hiring people in the technology field. It's very very heavily male in terms of percentage.

Why is that? I have no idea. I'm not saying men or women are better in technology vs the other. I'm just saying there is a very small percentage of women in the tech field and that is unfortunate.

You feel like a woman? Why dont you man up and just tell what you meant, but I know you are too scared for that. Scared to silence by feminists.

WTF? Ok, let me be as clear as possible.

Of course they lag in anything technical. Crypto is too abstract for most women to understand.

This all comes down to the fact that tech was marketed as "for males" in the eighties.

So now we have tons of males in tech and very few females. and blockchain is a tech area so...

By the way if you like technology I'm writing about it, you might like it :)

A wonderful and timely topic. Resteemed and following for next such article.

Of course, Women can dominate the crypto market if they desire for the same. There's a lot of remarkable women already working in tech industry and this crypto industry in no exception. Personally, I know a lot of women who have extraordinary knowledge about crypto and they are utilizing their skills for money making. And Why shouldn't they?
Yeah, this world is male dominated I agree, but women are also keeping up the pace with men in almost every field of work.
So I am pretty sure, Women are not lagging behind in cryptocurrency. @dommaraju

Lol I don't think so cos am advertising and introducing a lot of women to blockchain apps and Crypto currencies. More women are catching up on blockchain technology.

Interesting article. I'm curious if women make a large percentage, a 50-50 split, or male dominated. I'm still somewhat new to the crypto market and would interested in hearing more

womens are like mens, nothing different.

disagree! many women are into blockchain investments

So you havent read the post right?:)

natural advantage

Please upvote ,so mutually both will be benefitted and follow.
Thanks in advance.

I can not totally agree at this point. In my place most women use blockchain technology than man. so here women are enjoying life BINDASSSSS

Women are on point.

well, we are catching up now. me (we) have more things to handle, kids, chores, shopping for the households....and some still full time job.... and full time mommy as well. Thanks for understanding.

A wonderful topic beautiful greetings to you please support on my page

yes they can do .

Thinking that the technology, computer science or even cryptocurrency areas are only "men areas" is a totally wrong belief.

As you state, more and more women are standing out in the technology area, and many have proven to have a better performance than men. In my university, most of the great teachers that we have in the computer science area are women, specialized in areas like augmented reality, virtual reality, artificial intelligence, robotics, and algorithmics.

Interesting point of view, and must agree totally... Social media have been a great opportunity for women to take advantage of their image, and now blockchain takes this advantage to even higher limits...

I don't meet many women in this crypto business. I wonder why that is? Maybe as the Bitcoin expands we will see more of a diverse population.

@dommaraju i dont agree with you because i will give you live examples of females whose post are trending on steemit every now and then. U can check the profiles like @saramiller , @sweetsssj @halo etc who are females and are doing really really great on @steemit platform .. i being a male is lagging far behind them. It would take me alot of time to be of their reputation.
Anyway no matter i will also be of such reputation one day inshallah....my steemit fellow would help me to grow to such a level ..as steemit is a platform which is based on the principle of mutualism. So if you upvote or follpw any one you are being given equal benifit in return.so keep steeming and dont waste time ...
Thank you

i don't think

Since women more accurate in details they definitely have a future in software development

That's motivating! I know plenty of them not only trading, but even mining. With those new tech like Bancor it would be easy for anyone to create tokens, and who knows maybe EOS would make the way of building dapps simple for everyone. These are great times we're living in.

It's important to have these conversations in emerging fields, acknowledging the many flaws with old systems and striving not to repeat the same mistakes.

It might be bleak on the large scale, but of the people I know personally and who have an interest in crypto, 50% are female. In other words, two, haha.

Agreed, I do not believe women are being excluded. I believe women just like men have preferences to certain industries over others. Whatever peak your interest .
