The AERGO project has still got a way to go. Until this fourth quarter 2019 (Q4 2019), two milestones of the five set by the system's management have been achieved. These two include a release of the initial version of AERGO – AERGO Alpha version which supports the Structured Query Language (SQL) often used in database management systems, and the AERGO Beta version in Q3 2018. This project’s rollout program has involved in time releases that have ensured that development process of this protocol is effective. AERGO has had its strengths that have advanced successful operations while also experiencing a fair share of problems. An analysis of these strengths and weaknesses is important to help evaluate the progress of development of this proposed 4th Generation blockchain protocol.

Strengths

Established support: AERGO’s most significant strength is its hugely established creator, Blocko. Blocko is the largest blockchain infrastructure provider in South Korea, and further boasts over 25 million users of its infrastructure. Blocko supplies multinational companies with its blockchain infrastructure, and some of its clients include Samsung, Amazon Web Services and Hyundai. Developers of the AERGO protocol, Blocko, have a firm background on blockchain protocols, and their involvement in this project is a significant strength from the financial and technical support that they have provided to the project.

Ready Market: From Blocko’s support, this new protocol which offers unique solutions to problems encountered in the blockchain network, especially for business enterprises, will most likely be adopted by current Blocko’s clients. The clients provide a ready market for AERGO as its solutions prove to be quite essential for the clients’ blockchain operations including improving scalability, security, and simplicity. A ready market for the protocol is a great strength for AERGO as it is able to establish its objectives at the initial stages of operation.

Problem Solving: Blocko formed AERGO as a not-for-profit organization aimed at solving problems that were constantly encountered in the blockchain ecosystem. AERGO seeks to build a hybrid blockchain environment for both private and public networks to bridge the gap and enhance interoperability. Its flexibility is set to offer significant solutions to business enterprises that have encountered problems working on different blockchain networks. Also, the protocol offers more secure ways of conducting blockchain operations through unique components within the protocol including its smart contract engine AERGOSQL. In addition, the project aims to create a user friendly, developer friendly Application Program Interface (API) which may be simpler for several people to learn and operate. The fact that this project offers practical solutions to the blockchain ecosystem makes it a significant strength to the development of the protocol.

Technical Support: AERGO project’s developers’ team boasts of highly knowledgeable, skilled and qualified developers who will assist in producing protocol components that help achieve the goal set. This team which is at AERGO’s disposal provides essential guidance for an effective development of the protocol to enhance its final productivity. The technical support also stands out as a strength to AERGO as it is easier to complete tasks precisely with the help of the best developers.

In all, these strengths complement one another to achieve the success of the AERGO project protocol. In other segment, we’ll discuss the flaws of the project.
