ETC cryptocurrency holders to expect the accrual of new Callisto tokens a few days earlier than the previously announced fork date. Ethereum Classic network will be separated when the block reaches 5.5 million. As a result of the hardfork, a new coin called Callisto, will appear, which will be credited to all holders of the ETC token in a 1:1 ratio. It was planned that this will happen on March 5th, but due to the increased network hash, the desired block can be extracted already on the March 2nd.
Most experts link the growth of ETC quotations in recent days precisely with the expectations of the launch of a new Callisto project. Note that to obtain new tokens you need to store Ethereum Classic coins on a personal wallet, such as ClassicEtherWallet or MyEtherWallet. Users whose assets will be held on the exchange accounts at the time of hardfork will not receive new coins.
Technically, the procedure is as follows: when the specified block is reached, a shot of the main network lock will be fixed. Accordingly, the blockchain network of Callisto will store information about all transactions that occurred before this moment in the Ethereum Classic network. After that, the fork blockchain will develop separately from the “parent” one.
