1.Venezuela Government Services Will Accept Any Crypto

After relatively successful pre-sale round of Petro, a Venezuelan national cryptocurrency, president Moduro has signed a bill that forces all governmental services and gas stations to accept Petro and any other cryptocurrency as a legit method of payment. Is it going to be any crypto, I personally doubt it, but Venezuela’s success is already being monitored by Iran and Turkey.

2.US Residents Will Face Legal Issues if They Invest in Petro

US Government warned their citizens that any investment made into newly released crypto – Petro, will face legal issues under E.O. 13808 act. Act states “prohibits engaging in transactions related to, providing financing for, or otherwise dealing in new debt with a maturity of longer than 30 days issued by, on behalf of, or for the benefit of any other segment of the Government of Venezuela”. As usual… Can’t forbid – make it illegal.

3.Telegram May Launch Second “Secret” Presale for Another $850mln

Raising $850mln in pre-sale for their upcoming project Ton, “Anonymous sources” say that Durov, Telegram CEO, is releasing a “secret” pre-sale round to raise another $850mln, totalling at $1.7bln before project goes to crowdfunding. This is a total record for ICO fund raising. It would be great to find who those anonymous sources are or if they exist at all. But in any case, the hype is massive.

4.Russia to Set Up Crypto-Crimea

The jurisdiction of Crimean Peninsula is very unique, even to Russian standards. It’s economic and political status allows the region to test laws before they are implemented on a national scale. So, the idea of crypto-Crimea was born. If bill passes, the region will become a testing ground for innovations related to distributor ledger and blockchain technologies.

5.California Bill Aims to Recognize Blockchain Records

Together with Arizona, Vermont and Florida, California passed a bill to recognize blockchain transactions, digital signatures and smart contracts. If passed, digital signatures, secured through blockchain, will official status. Not too much information for discussion here, but one thing is clear. Officials are serious on legislating blockchain and cryptocurrency.
