By running your own node, you contribute directly to the health and strength of the blockchain network.
This is exactly why I run my Hive witness from home.. There was a little peer test done quite a while back which showed that a majority (60+%) of hive witnesses are hosted with Hetzner... who absolutely HATE blockchain being run on their servers with actually against the TOS.
Another 20% are Hive-in-a-box's run by privex.
So it's like.. hive is not in a safe place hosting wise at all. Most witnesses are with the same service provider.
Yeah, sadly, my Hive-Engine node is hosted on Hetzner. That is the first machine I am getting is one to run my Hive-Engine witness on, then I will go from there. Just gotta make some extra to do it.
