'Before it's too late'… Google “Searching for a blockchain-based web 3 service”
Google's parent company, Alphabet, is seeking ways to incorporate blockchain technology into its services.
The intention is to use this as a new service opportunity amid the growing movement to build a new Internet, criticizing the existing platform-centered Internet structure.
Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai said in an Alphabet earnings call on the 1st (local time), “We are excited to see blockchain technology with a wide range of applications. will be closely monitoring and supporting it as far as we can.”

According to him, Google is paying attention to the Web3 concept in order to expand its open source service. Web3 refers to an attempt to build a new Internet by strengthening users' rights to issue and own data with technologies such as blockchain.
“Google has benefited tremendously from open source technology,” Pichai said.
In addition, Alphabet is paying attention to blockchain-based platforms as a new type of cloud service against competitors such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft (MS). The company is currently working on how to seamlessly apply features on the platform, such as build, trade, store value, and deploy new products.
