Abab.io is aiming to be a decentralized marketplace for accommodation rentals where Blockchain technology solves the trust issue between host and guest. In contradiction to traditional marketplaces for accommodation, Abab will be an open technology, creating opportunities for third-party developers – so called ‘partners’ - to create services and interfaces based on the provided data for both hosts and guests. 30% of the AbabCoins will go to ABAB.DAO, a decentralized autonomous organization used for developing projects and helping partners in the formation of their products on the Abab.io marketplace.
Why Abab?
In comparison with a traditional solution like AirBnB, Abab.io will offer the following differences:
Problems they aim to solve:
Some of the problems Abab.io tries to solve are guest issues such as average accommodation rental aggregators who’s commission is about 9-35% or the deals you can’t refuse – such as an insurance or phone support. One can’t change one’s booking system to another because it’s database and reputation system are closed and have no access for other market participants. This tradition of having a closed system also creates issues for small market participants, as the owner of the databases of traditional solutions - such as AirBnB - dictate the terms and are able to change commission size or seize markets which tend to be profitable.
