On Progress

What I consider as progress is when technology, economy, and all the factors a society evolve and bring the population, the people up with it, improves living conditions, infrastructure, gives back, etc.
Some countries are good examples where governments are a bit more humane with their populations. Good social services, health coverage, generally healthy countries in which to live a decent dignified happy life. Some European countries are in that realm and thriving. Asia seems to want to head in a more sustainable direction as they all try break away from the Dollar being used as the standard global trade currency.
The Americas are different in that it is a pure capitalist society experiment in which these days are more wild west than in the past. There is uncertainty and government is slow to adapt to the realities of present day global power dynamics. Ridiculous healthcare debate, bizarre political environment, further huge distribution of wealth to the top, corrupt rigged system more resembling an old school banana republic than the so called beacon of light every other country once wanted to be like. Can democracy be restored, updated, rebooted, formatted?
It seems not to want to lead anymore or is actively trying to undermine the constitution, right under everyone’s noses. It wants to go back to some other better era and seems against progress. This seems like the old guard doesn’t want to evolve and let go, is holding on for dear life.
The majority of people are hungry for evolution and progress in the Americas, particularly in the U.S. of A. We crave for our country to move forward, realize that we have to act now to ensure a good future for our kids, for humanity. It unfortunately goes beyond elections, as they are useless to the majority. It involves new ways of thinking about our societies, as a whole but very much at a local level. That has a lot to do with transparency, trust, justice, etc. and totally involves the exchange of value. Decentralized money. Will they allow it in the long run? Can it be stopped? I don’t think so. Once an idea takes root, it’s quite impossible to uproot it. Especially one like this.

Blockchain
‘Decentralized Autonomous Corporations (DAC’s), smart contracts (which are basically robots that are going to replace millions of jobs), unhackable distributed databases for everything, it will change the world. Offering peer to peer banking to people who’ve never had a bank account, helps transact without intermediaries, is an indisputable public ledger, a clear digital identity for everyone, valid digital voting systems, on and on...
Bitcoin and all the coins are just the beginning and seem designed for financing a bigger project. And it’s about to hit critical mass in its so many manifestations. Humanity is ripe and ready for such a change!

I’m beginning to start to understand the space and want to believe that the Blockchain can help bring about positive change and aid us in evolving into cooler human beings as a whole and in the process save ourselves from extinction.

There are so many industries being disrupted by the Blockchain that it’s bound to begin permeating society in a way that can be felt at a broader level… it seems to have its faults too and will be used for good as well as not so good. In summary, the Blockchain has immeasurable potential for one day soon, becoming the operating system for many of the everyday things we do in Society, how we function.
