2020 was an extremely difficult year. Many of us have been affected by the Pandemic. Many people began to spend more time online, it contributed to the growth of Internet projects.
Viz mainnet hard fork added fees to the committee for actions involving the addition of objects to the indexes (this affected invites, paid subscriptions, delegates, applications to the committee). This allowed us to stop spam of applications to public lists. I wouldn't be surprised if bugs are found somewhere in the future. Recently, the network got up due to incorrect typing, but delegates were able to quickly roll out the fix and the network started working after a few hours. This is how the ecosystem is honed, bug by bug :)
A plugin to save data about the last custom operation of the account was developed. This will allow developers to more easily integrate various checks in protocols on top of the VIZ blockchain.
At the beginning of the year, the info.viz.plus blockchain explorer was started (source code), which was later attacked by spam few times. The personal account my.viz.plus was updated, and an exchange VIZ-USDT (ERC20) was added.
VIZ social telegram bot was updated to the second version, English version added, improved channel management, divisible awards and guide for beginners added. The bot began to work more stable and increased audience reach. There were about 300 active users, and the coverage was about 6400 at the beginning of the year. Now there are about 2000 active users, reach is 18600. The bot is connected to hundreds of channels and groups. So far, emphasis and growth have been among Russian-speaking users. I wonder what will happen in a year? :)
VIZ has found its own symbol - Ƶ. Some of the participants supported such an initiative, delighting the community with creativity and all kinds of images.
The Vizonator has received several updates. The YouTube channel owner rewards cycle has closed. The channel rating was added . Now there are many more rewards in the ecosystem.
Denis Skripnik deployed API testing service for VIZ developers. A series of articles for newcomers was added. The interface for multi-signature operations has been adapted. VIZ Projects concept and prototype, protocol and oracle for search engine based on the popularity of VIZ Links content (idea), audited polls on VIZ was created.
C# and PHP Viz library was developed. Passwordless authorization was tested The concept of VIZ Hub, Whisper secure messenger and Gems protocol for fungible and non-fungible tokens has taken shape was proposal.
Status and rating of public API nodes of the VIZ blockchain was developed. A proxy gateway that distributes the load between all presented nodes (including the private node) depending on the rating.
For me, the main project on Viz for 2020 was The Free Speech Project (later publicly launched under the name Readdle.me). It is a dApp in the Viz ecosystem where the social network algorithm is executed on the user side. In this case the browser is the social network that loads the activity of people you are interested in from the VIZ blockchain. The decentralized social network Readdle.me will give an impetus to the development and popularization of Viz around the world.
