It is naively optimistic to think the big dogs aren't going to do things their way when Wall Street dumps many trillions of dollars into blockchain next year. It's not going to be a democratic, egalitarian decentralized festival of goodness and empathy for the 99%. Sorry.
Consensus, decentralization etc. give hope to the masses, but in the end the big dogs rule the roost. It was a nice pipe dream. We crypto-people had our nice little bubble a couple of months ago, but it's time to get serious and work to make blockchain of use to the 1% so they can improve their financial efficiency.
What us peons really need is an "edible" blockchain. When the SHTF it will give us hope to know that there is a source of food in broken down blockshains.
