RE: Can Blockchain Technologies End Wage-Slavery?

in #blockchain8 years ago

I agree that being a "wage slave" is no fun. However, we have so many more resources and so much knowledge at our disposal, that the sky is the limit to what we can achieve. We can start our own business. We can learn a trade. We can get educated and get a great paying job. Above all, in reality, we have a lot of things we take for granted. Freedom of religion, speech, cars, homes, freedom to travel, freedom to own a gun, and a general freedom of choice. I do not understand how anyone can compare "wage slavery" to ACTUAL slavery (where hard labor is almost a guarantee while benefits and land ownership were almost NOT a guarantee). I think this generation is too spoiled to realize how lucky and fortunate they are.

Sort:

3/4 of the people on this planet do not have shelter, food and water on a daily basis. 93 out of 100 small businesses fail within 3-5 years. Most people have no alternative but to work in menial jobs that barely takes them through the month.

Not all can get a great paying job due to the nature of our system. Historical slavery did not actually involve hard labour (that's the movies part). Most slaves were simply owned by their bosses as much as most people today owe so much to the bank that they end up slaving away, day in and day out to just make the bare minimum interest payment.
