Mossland integrates with Loom SDK

Mossland is a blockchain-based augmented reality (AR) game that's in development and headed for launch in mid-late 2019. This week, the team behind Mossland announced that they are integrating select services with the Loom SDK.

The specific services are:

  1. Moss Pop  - a location-based AR mobile application where users can discover ERC20 tokens scattered around the streets, and collect them by consuming relevant advertisements.
  2. Moss Store  - a marketplace for digital contents and VR/AR games in the Mossland ecosystem that can be purchased using their ERC20 token, Moss Coin.

Mossland: Moss Pop

Moss Pop is essentially a hyper-targeted advertising app where users are rewarded directly by the advertiser for watching advertisements in their area.

It's like filling the world with thousands of virtual billboards that users of the app can see. By watching these billboards (ads), users get rewards. This creates a feedback loop for viewers and advertisers making it easier to track effectiveness of ads, as well as empowering the users to engage through rewards.

This is an unexpected departure from Loom's core focus on blockchain games. Perhaps it's a step into a broader focus for the team that includes the lucrative advertising market. Either way, we'll be watching this one closely for updates.
