In November, I was able to participate in the ICO of project Blocskstack. At the moment the project is actively developing. For example, at the moment there is a campaign to perform tasks for their tokens, and I wanted to tell a little more about the project and what it does.
What are you most pissed about in the modern Internet? Personally, most of all, I'm annoyed by the fact that it's worth me once to go to some site, and to read, for example, how the quadrocopter works, and then within a week or more all sites start offering me to buy different quadrocopters. How and why does this happen? If you do not go into details, it is because you use websites that allow you to use information about yourself and your interests in the user agreement. And these companies shamelessly sell these data to advertising companies. This is how the business on the Internet works at the moment. Who and why gave the right to companies to dispose of your, in fact personal, data, and sell them to companies you probably never heard of is not entirely clear. What is the way out of this? You can try to abandon these services, but it's hard to imagine your own life without Google, Facebook or Twitter. What else can I do?
The answer is simple. Do not transfer your own data to such companies. Those. so that the company does not know who exactly went by this link.
How to do this, if each such company asks for a login and password that automatically gives the company to understand who you are?And what if you can just apply your key, confirming that you have the right to use this data, but not pass this key to the company that you use?
It looks like a great idea. And approximately the Internet of Blockstack will work like this. Unfortunately, because of the structure of Internet, this is a very time consuming and long process, where many things have to be written from scratch. But Blockstack company is full of strength and anonymity to fight this "injustice," and build the Internet the way it seems to be right.
A little bit about using Blockstack.
Even at the time of the crowdsale, I noticed that to use the input through blockstack you will need a special browser.I immediately thought that it was terrible. People are slaves to their habits. New browsers are usually inconvenient, but even if they work fine, it's difficult to give up the usual browser that you use for years because of incomprehensible benefits.
But after studying it turned out that Blockstack Browser is not a separate browser, but just a small program that will hang in your tray, and you will go to sites using your favorite Google Chrome (or Firefox), and blockstack brovers will turn on and give you the window only on sites where some of the features are implemented. Not bad? The authorization process is very similar to the process of authorizing an application to access your data in facebook or twitter. Everything is intuitively clear and familiar. And this is what gives me the belief that blockstack will not only be able to make its product, but also distribute it and make it popular. After all, the advantages are obvious, and in fact there are no inconveniences.
Hooray Blockstack. Hooray decentralized Internet.
