I'm so glad I am not American.
Interestingly a number of close US allies (UK and Australia in particular) are taking a very pro-crypto approach.
They see the opportunity and don't have a reserve currency status to protect.

The US is not very free economically, and the legal system is utterly broken where it isn't outright corrupt. Instead of serving as a bastion for peace and prosperity, the government is meddling in foreign affairs, sometimes openly, and sometimes covertly.
Thank God government is not society. Otherwise, I would be expatriating.
