Yes, this is correct, but bear in mind the units shown on your account on Steemit are in millions. So 1 BTC currently buys around 8M Steem Power (~980 STEEM equivalent).
My account converts 1 steem to 1 steempower. Am I missing something?
Apparently I didn't get the memo, but you're right, the steemit.com web wallet reports steempower in units of steem, not in units of vests. The last I knew steempower was just another name for vests, and I always use the command-line wallet (which operates in vests) or look at my balance on steemd.com (which also shows vests). I've changed the amounts displayed for steempower on BlockTrades now, so it reports in units of steem when buying steempower. Thanks for letting me know.
