This event was inevitable but the bigger picture now is what happens with HIVE.
It's completely untenable for the head of code innovation to be both compliant to regulatory power in one regard but still be essentially directing development on a token/chain/project where his associates such as @theycallmedan and @starkers are constantly calling HIVE unique, pretending that this thing in crypto is somehow immune to regulation.
Your hand has played a decisive role on HIVE exposure (lack of) and the fact that this chain still remains relatively unknown and with a very small marketcap (and shrinking) is evidence of your clear fear of change and also goes totally against community sentiment.
This tech is not POS or dPOS.
It's PROOF_OF_STUCK.
So with you in lead it has absolutely no chance of ever existing as the many dream futures that identities such as @taskmaster and @edicted claim.
The above bloggers need to start letting the community know the reality of the future of this chain because 10x is literally impossible now that the token will essentially only be available for third world countries.

One such drunken contributor to CTT, @brianoflondon has however inadvertantly made the point... that as long as you are head of code, there is no future for HIVE.
But.... I guess that was always the game play. Steemit >>> Hive = keep the cash cow alive.
That was before regulators though. It's unsustainable now in this environment and the squeeze will continue.
It's interesting to watch nonetheless. I'm sure old heads watch still and ponder on what could have been.
