RE: BlockTrades RocksDB proposal to Steemit

in #blocktrades6 years ago (edited)

This solution sounds to be significantly better than purely relying on the previously presented concept of modularising the node software to facilitate clusters of servers that operate as a single server (allowing for increased levels of raw processing power - but with greater overall hardware cost).

I imagine the quoted cost would be more than covered by less than a year's operating with the more efficient system and the associated lower hardware running costs. I have no idea of the state of Steemit Inc's 'bank account' - but one way or another the community can afford this.#

It should also be highlighted that @blocktrades has stated that if Steemit inc. doesn't accept the finished result then they don't pay.

Good point about reducing cost versus spreading the load over multiple servers via the modular blockchain idea. The modular idea has it's place, but the low hanging fruit should be gathered first.

Absolutely, yes!

I approve this message, and proposal.
